Welcome! I am so excited you have decided to jump-in and enrol in my Beginner Friendly Yoga course. Traditionally, when we build up the courage to attend our first yoga class, it is in-person at a studio, in a group class setting. In my opinion, there is no substitute for learning yoga with a qualified instructor in-person. However, our World is changing and with the recent upheaval of the Covid-19 Pandemic, there is now a demand for on-line learning, experiencing and teaching. With that in mind, I have decided to offer this introductory course so you may try yoga in the comfort and privacy of your own home, and at your own pace. This is not a perfect solution - but it I am hoping that it will spark interest and if you experience something as simple as a deeper, calmer breath, or less ache in your joints, that you will consider adding a regular yoga practice to your everyday life.

I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Please remember to work at your own pace, if you experience pain come out of the pose and do less, adjust or adapt. If you can't find a way to do this then please contact me so we can figure something out for you. Like I say, on-line is not perfect and requires open communication for you to get the most out of this course.

You can reach me by either emailing me at [email protected] or text/call me at 705 927-7505 (during traditional business hours).

How to approach this course:

The benefits of yoga are best experienced with a regular practice. I often tell people that simply buying a course of classes will not improve anything, you have to show-up and do the practice! Try to find a regular day and time to practice - once a week works well. Set aside some space in your house. Turn off any distractions, and tell family members you need this "you" time.

You will need:

A yoga mat

A blanket

A 6ft strap, belts, ties and dog leashes work well

A firm cushion or pillow, may be two

A curious, enquiring mind 😊

We practice barefoot, so we don't slip and can feel our feet on the floor. Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing. Don't eat a big meal or drink alcohol before you practice. Don't chew gum while you practice (you laugh but it happens way more often than it should).

Take responsibility for your own body. Work to your own comfort level. I mean it - don't let the ego get in the way.

I sincerely hope you enjoy following this course. Don't hesitate to reach out to me if you experience any problems. I would love to hear from you.

Namaste 🙏

Tracey
